He statement is below.
Wednesday, April 29th Update
I want to pass along some much anticipated good news. I have been notified that Morris County has two individuals that have recovered from the coronavirus. The two individuals, a 42 year old female and a 70 year old male, both living in the same residence, have fully recovered. That means with these most recently recovered cases, Morris County currently has a total of 3 confirmed active cases located in two separate households.
On Monday, through partnership with Texas Division of Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Task Force, Texas Health and Human Services, Texas Department of State Health Services, and the Texas Military Department, 75 residents of Morris County were tested for the virus. Individuals will be notified of their results within 48-72 hours, and the County will be notified of any positive results within 3-7 days.
Pending the results of those tests we are hopeful that many of our local restaurants and retail stores will be able to open at 50% capacity according to Governor Abbott's guidelines.
Thank you for all that you do.
