Daingerfield Ag Mech teams participate in Fort Worth

On Saturday, January 14th, 2023, fifteen members of the Daingerfield FFA traveled to Fort Worth, TX to show their agricultural mechanics projects at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. To be eligible to exhibit projects at the Fort Worth Stock Show, students have to design and construct a wood or metal project that fits within one of the six class divisions set by the show. Projects must be solely built by the students and started after the completion of the previous year’s show.

Daingerfield FFA student participates in Fort Worth Calf Scramble

On Monday, January 16th, 2023, Daingerfield FFA member and 8th grader, Tyson Hughes, traveled to Fort Worth, TX to participate in the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo’s Calf Scramble. The calf scramble is an event hosted by some rodeos in which a group of calves are released in the arena and students must catch and halter a calf then guide it to a designated area. Winning students are awarded a cash valued certificate, which will be used to help purchase a heifer or steer for the next year’s show.
