“Movies of Christmas” will be the theme for the Hughes Springs Christmas Parade, which will be held Dec. 3. The annual parade will again be sponsored by the Hughes Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Cleanup is still continuing following the tornado that tore through Hughes Springs on Nov. 4. There will soon be another avenue for residents to receive help with recovering from the damage. Residents and business owners affected can apply for federal disaster relief in the form of low interest loans. But the Hughes Springs Chamber of Commerce recently announced there will soon be another option for assistance.
The Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce will host the city’s annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 5. Sandwiching the event will be a full Christmas event meant to capitalize on the visitors who will already be downtown for the parade. The revamped event will feature vendor booths, caroling, food, fun, and even a visit from Santa himself.
What started over 25 years ago as a way for the Hughes Springs Chamber of Commerce to help needy children have an enjoyable Christmas has blossomed into a community service for needy children and seniors.
For the tenth year running, the Daingerfield State Park will host their annual Christmas in the Park event. The dates for this year’s events will be Dec. 14-17.
