The city of Lone Star took steps to remedy several matters, including filling several city positions, at City Hall during their monthly city council meeting Aug. 17.

The eye of the Tiger made its 2023 debut as Daingerfield held its annual Meet the Tigers event at Mickey Mayne Stadium Friday afternoon. The public got a chance to see the Tiger football, volleyball and cross-country teams as well as the cheerleaders, band and Tiger Belles in preparation for the 2023 fall seasons. The Tiger football team scrimmages at Atlanta tonight. The Lady Tiger volleyball team will travel to Harts Bluff Friday. Tiger cross-country opens their season Aug. 26 in Longview.
