Danny Steven Welch

Danny Steven Welch, 49 of Hughes Springs, was born in Linden on February 22, 1974. He passed away May 11 at his home. Danny had Muscular Dystrophy but that did not stop him from fishing and camping. He also had speech problems, but he loved talking with family, friends and strangers. Danny’s love of all things Elvis was known to everyone he knew. He had a wide collection of magazines, books, vinyl records, cups, clocks. Danny also loved watching football, and he always had a special place for the Hughes Springs Mustangs. He was brought up in a strong Christian family by his grandfather, Sammie Welch.

Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sammie and Patsy Welch; father, Michael Steven Welch; sister, Christy Parsons; grandparents, Parker and Hattie Dodson; aunt, Linda Dodson Davis; aunt, Connie Dodson Carpenter; uncle, Freddie Dodson; cousin, Jason Carpenter.

He is survived by his brother, Scott Welch and wife Ashley; nephews, Bradley, Jax, David, and Corey Welch; aunt, Jacquelyn Welch Holloway; nephew, Cody Holloway; mother, Ruby Parsons and husband Carlton; brother, Bryan Stanley; sisters, Lajeana Hawkins and Katie Stroman; nephews, Nathan Parker, and Corey Hawkins, Khloe, Hannah and Adam Stroman; uncles, Gene Dodson and wife Charlotte, Eddie Dodson and wife Helen.

Services for Danny were held Saturday, May 20, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial followed at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder- Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
