Daingerfield native recalls time in NFL, Super Bowl Experience
BY TONI WALKER
Thousands of young men play football every year, with only a small percentage moving on past the high school ranks. Of the small number that play collegiately, the percentage is even smaller of those that actually make it to the National Football League. Of those, only 106 have the opportunity to play on the NFL’s biggest stage each year at the Super Bowl. Daingerfield native David Whitmore is one of the few who not only have made it to the NFL, but have played in, and won, on the league’s biggest stage. Ironically, two of Whitmore’s teams faced off Sunday in Super Bowl LIV.
