Billy Ray Lanier, Jr., 72, of Linden, Texas, left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 12, 2026. He was born January 5, 1954, in Gilmer, Texas. He was a Marine Corps infantry veteran, a trustworthy man of fine character, and a longtime member of Fairland Holiness Church in Fouke, Arkansas.Billy was preceded in death by his mother, June Lanier Rankin; father, Billy R. Lanier Sr.; and brother, Barry Wade Lanier.He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, René; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jenny Lanier; daughter, Misty Fisher Lanier; grandchildren, Travis and his wife April, Jacob, Leah, Aileen, and Abrie; and great-grandchildren, Naomi and Winona; sister, Sheila Fitzgerald her husband Herb; and a number of extended family and friends.Services for Mr. Lanier were 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2026 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs with Bro. Lloyd Shuecraft officiating. Burial followed at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Burial followed at Avinger Cemetery. There was a time of visitation with family and friends Friday, June 19, 2026, at the funeral home.

Doris Fowler passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning hours of June 12, 2026. She lived an amazing 91 years, after beginning life as Doris Mae Nix on June 28, 1934, at a little farmhouse outside of Daingerfield. Her proud parents were Ernest and Mary Lou Nix.
