Principal’s Corner

Principal’s Corner

As I began this new journey as principal at Daingerfield High School one of my goals was to make school spirit cool in school again. This has taken energy from not only myself, Coach Betts, but our entire staff as well. With that being said I can honestly tell you that I am seeing the tide start to turn in a positive direction as far as school spirit goes. At our pep rallies our students are truly competing for the spirit stick with their class sponsors (teachers) right there with them. We also have a student section at our home football games called the Tiger Pit. I would like to give a shout out to Ethan Reeder, one of our Freshmen who has helped to make this a crazy, energetic, and ultimately fun area for our Junior High and High School students to watch the game and cheer on our Tigers. This has helped to transform not only our pep rallies, but our home football games as well. This, I believe all of this carries over into our hallways, classrooms, and ultimately I feel gives our students a sense of school pride that I know I have been praying returned to our high school. As always, stay safe and next week we will be back with some more loving, positive, and uplifting information about our school, students, and community. God bless and go Tigers!

Principal’s Corner

This last week marked our first full week of school, and I couldn’t have been more proud of our students, faculty, and staff for their hard work and enthusiasm this week. As Coach Betts (our assistant principal) and I walked through our classrooms this last week we were impressed with the organization of our teachers and the dedication to the learning process that our students were showing. We are asking a lot more from our students this year, from hallway transition times being cut down, rigor of instruction increasing, and overall dedication in the terms of school spirit to our high school campus. Speaking of school spirit we had our first pep rally last Friday. I greatly enjoyed the participation from our student body at our first pep rally and truly believe it carried over to our volleyball and football teams taking home their wins on Friday. Our students, faculty, staff, and community are truly making this a dream job for both Coach Betts and myself. Our varsity football team will be traveling to Tatum this Friday night, and our Volleyball teams will be traveling to Jefferson, so travel out to show your support. As always, stay safe and next week we will be back with some more loving, positive, and uplifting information about our school, students, and community. God bless and go Tigers!
