On Saturday, July 26, the Steel Belt Gym Academy in Hughes Springs was awarded the Texas Treasure Business Award (TTBA) from Texas Historical Commission in Austin.
On Wednesday, July 30, the Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced that Titus County will become home to the first zero-landfill aluminum facility in the nation, being brought to life by the Aluminz Corporation.
Earlier in July, Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD (DLSISD) put out a public post on social media, announcing that they would not have the Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) program available for their students. It was just a few days later that they announced good news, with the federal funding returning that the ACE program needed to continue.
On Saturday, July 19, a bus loaded with volunteers from Nevill’s Chapel of Mount Pleasant returned from Kerrville, Texas, after they took the long trip to help flood victims.
