Two employees of the Morris County Sheriff’s Office were injured on June 22 after being assaulted by an inmate during a transport preparation.
During the week of June 10–18, 2026, eight travelers from the Daingerfield area embarked on an unforgettable educational journey through Italy. Among the group were Daingerfield High School students Auh’Brie Wells, Juan Briseno, and Anayazlin Olguin. As a teacher and a parent, I wanted to provide students with an opportunity to travel internationally, experience a new culture, and see history come alive beyond the classroom. Although this educational tour was not sponsored by Daingerfield High School or Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD, local students were invited to participate through an independent student travel program, EF Tours. For all three students, this trip marked both their first airplane flight and their first time traveling abroad. Those experiences alone made the journey memorable, but the opportunity to explore one of the world’s most historic countries made it truly life-changing.
The City of Daingerfield is pleased to share that permits have now been issued for the Cubbies Travel Center development at 201 Cotton Street, and work is beginning.
