The 2026 FFA Banquet was held on May 7 and the new 2026-2027 Daingerfield FFA Officer Team was presented: President, Blaze Anderson; Vice President, Khayleb Craddock; Secretary, Arryanna Evans; Treasurer, Tessa Pollan; Reporter, Sophia Langford; Sentinel, Auh’Brie Wells; and Student Advisor, De’kevian Williams.
Students from the Daingerfield-Lone Star Independent School District (DLSISD) FFA recently collaborated with local law enforcement to construct specialized door-breaching equipment. This tactical gear, which includes tools like battering rams, is designed to allow officers to quickly access suspects or reach victims during high-stakes emergency situations, such as hostage rescues or active shooter incidents.

Northeast Texas Community College mourns the passing of Dr. Jerry Wesson, a founding administrator and former Vice President of Student Services, who passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 85. A memorial service will be held on May 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Tennison Memorial United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant. Following the memorial, A short graveside service will be held at 4:00PM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas.
Billy Tinsley was apprehended by Texas Game Wardens on April 4, on an outstanding warrant from the Lone Star Police Department for vehicle burglary. The warrant stemmed from an incident reported at the city park in June 2025. Notably, Tinsley was already on parole for previous vehicle burglaries at the time of this latest arrest.
