The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees met Tuesday evening in a hybrid format, with some members attending in person and others participating via Zoom due to winter weather conditions. The student spotlight portion of the agenda was postponed until a future meeting due to the winter weather and campus closure.
For NTCC Honors Students, there are three major ways in which leadership not only benefits the recipient, but the whole honors experience. Students can lead in classroom erudition. They can lead in scholarship, generally producing an essay or project that addresses major issues or problems. Finally, they can lead in collective activities that provide services for the community and/or accolades for the larger group. During her first summer in honors and first semester in an honors seminar last fall, Emma Frances earned the 2025 Dr. Charles B. Florio Award, for her leadership in all three venues.
Northeast Texas Community College will host an interest meeting for its upcoming Washington, D.C. Travel Study Course on Monday, Feb. 9, at 12:30 p.m. in HUM-107 The meeting is open to students, faculty and community members who are considering participating in the May 2026 educational travel experience or would like updated information about available courses, scholarships and trip details.
Theatre Northeast at Northeast Texas Community College will hold auditions for its spring production, Twelfth Night or What You Will by William Shakespeare, on Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.
