Hughes Springs Elementary staff and students celebrated Thanksgiving before going into their holiday break. The students put on a play about Pilgrims and Native Americans and feasted together before the holiday.

When the LA Dodgers won the World Series in October, cheers erupted across Northeast Texas. Why? Because the pitcher for the Dodgers, Michael Kopech– Mount Pleasant native and a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School– is a huge part of the team. And on Tuesday, November 26, Kopech returned to his alumnus to thank the community and sign autographs.
