Griffin completes first book in spy series
Pittsburg local Ian Griffin recently completed the first book in a six-part spy series which will be released in early October. Called The Birth of a Spy Couple, this first book lays the foundation for the story of Rick and Katja who are approached with a lucrative offer upon their arrival in Kitzingen, Germany to join “The Agency,” a secret organization of espionage and assassinations, while still on an active military assignment.

The National Retail Federation estimates that nearly $111 billion will be spent on back-to-school shopping this year. PCCAC Theatre Director enjoys second success
The Pittsburg-Camp County Arts Council presented Steel Magnolias over the weekend in Pittsburg. Directed by Sheila Brown and played by a cast of seven talented ladies, the performance, written by Robert Harling after the loss of his sister, is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana. All the “important” women in town come to Truvy’s to have their hair done while catching up on the local news. While battling the inevitable “life”, these ladies show their mettle by encouraging one another through the bad and enjoying the good together.
