CIS hosts annual CAPPED event
Communities In Schools (CIS) Northeast Texas held its annual CAPPED event at Northeast Texas Community College on Wednesday, April 17th. About 275 seniors from area high schools spent a half-day touring campus and learning about the programs and opportunities available at NTCC. Schools that participated include: Chapel Hill, Clarksville, Daingerfield, Harts Bluff, Mount Pleasant, Mount Vernon, Pewitt, Pittsburg, Rivercrest and Sulphur Springs.
Traveling food truck Smashing through their first anniversary
A traveling food truck known for hopping town to town in East Texas and serving tasty smashburgers and crisp, perfectly golden fries is celebrating their first anniversary on April 29.
Morris County Junior Livestock Show results
he Morris County Junior Livestock Association hosted its annual county livestock show at the Morris County Show Barn located north of Daingerfield on Highway 259. The all livestock show projects were judged by Mr. Skylar Shively. New to the show this year were agricultural mechanics, artwork, and photography shows, as well as a floral design competition. Judging the agricultural mechanics projects was Mr. Brian Scheu, and judging the photography, artwork Grand Champion Ag Mechanics Project was a wood and metal picnic table built by Daingerfield FFA members, Auh’Brie Wells and Rachael Walker. Ms. Wells and Ms. Walker were also the Ag Mechanics - Group Showmanship winners.
