Phillip Edward Jeremiah

Phillip Edward Jeremiah stepped up to the pearly gates of Heaven on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, at the age of 61. He was born on January 30th, 1961 in Orange, CA. Preceded in death by Raymond and Shirley (Berry) Jeremiah, his father and mother. Prior to moving to northeast Texas, Mr. Jeremiah lived his mid years out of Clovis, CA. Before that, he grew up in southern California in Santa Ana, where he met his future wife and mother of his children. Phil worked as a union plumber for over 31 years at the UA Local 246 in Fresno, CA. He was a dedicated man who enjoyed his work. He also worked for the Daingerfield- Lone Star ISD school district in the maintenance department and also as a school bus driver. Phil was an artist, like his mother. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, covering a wide variety of genres. His strong suit was in humor and math, as he was quick-witted and funny. Phil will always be remembered by his character: strong, smart, giving, grateful, he was a man of God. Phil would take the shirt off his back to help a stranger and give his pocket to help a friend in need. He learned how to become a great father and an even better grandfather. Mr. Jeremiah is survived by the love of his life, Robin Jeremiah, his wife of 41 years. Together they had three children: Amanda, Sarah, and Matthew Jeremiah; with Amanda and Sarah providing 5 grandchildren: Jaden, Ryleigh, Jasper, Ryder, and Ryver. Phillip has two brothers and two sisters, all with their respective wives and husbands as well as many children and grandchildren, his nieces, and nephews. Phil donated his body to science upon death, still helping others even after he has gone; he will be cremated, and his ashes will be shed as he wished. He never let anything hold him back, he proved to be a true fighter, surviving cancer and multiple heart attacks, He fought for his marriage, his offspring, and had a Big Love for life itself.

Jesse Jackson Foster, Sr., affectionately known as “ Jack” or “ Jackie”, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, at his home in Burleson. He was born on May 29, 1949 in Dallas, to Henry Nelson Foster and Dorothy Murray Foster, who both preceded him in death.

Services for Mrs. Marceile Qualls, 86 of Avinger, were held Thursday, Jan. 12, at Hickory Hill Baptist Church with Bro. James Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Avinger Cemetery under the direction of Reeder- Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Graveside services for Danny Freeman, 73, of Daingerfield were held at 3 PM Monday, January 9, 2023 at Spring Hill Cemetery in Rocky Branch with Bro. Jeff Bethard officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the funeral home. Mr. Freeman was born in Naples on June 15, 1949 to Morris and Elizabeth Freeman. He passed away on Friday morning, January 6, 2023 in a Mt. Pleasant nursing facility. Mr. Freeman proudly served his country with the United States Air Force. Danny had a love for kids and sports. He coached his kids when they were kids and more recently loved making trips to Daingerfield, Hughes Springs and Santa Fe to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a member of the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Penny. He leaves behind his sons and daughters-in-law, Clint Freeman of Daingerfield, Bryan and Shawn Freeman of Daingerfield, Adam and Taimy Freeman of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Nathan Gutierrez of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Dylan Freeman and wife Bailey of Hughes Springs, Cooper Freeman of Shreveport, Shelby Sims and husband Jacob of Sumter, SC, Cali Freeman of Hughes Springs, Brody Freeman of Hughes Springs, Emma Gutierrez of Santa Fe, Gavin Gutierrez of Santa Fe; great grandson, Baker Freeman of Hughes Springs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Emily and Ben Janca of Hughes Springs, Wanda and Wayne Bethard of Longview and brother, Dugan and Judy Freeman of Longview. The family requests that memorials be made in honor of Mr. Freeman to: Hughes Springs Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball Association, PO BOX 624, Hughes Springs, Texas 75656.
