The Candy Tax

You know, there are a few things about being a parent that make all the struggles and issues worthwhile. I mean, let’s face it: we all have days where we believe we were definitely not cut out to be parents. We question our decision making skills, especially on days where our child goes to school in less than matching clothing simply because we don’t have the energy to fit it any more. But, this past weekend reminded me that there are some things that make all of that worth it. One of the biggest is the Candy Tax.

Everyone is talking about this Holiday called Halloween. I’m not sure what it is but I do know that black cats seem to be the star of the show. My humans keep talking about costumes and how they need to get one for the event. I wear my costume year round. I was born as the magical black cat that everyone wants to be for this treat giving holiday. The new girl in the offce, the one who brought me treats, I think her name is Holly, even dressed up as a black cat last weekend. My beautiful sleek black appearance must have inspired her, rightfully so. If you are in need of a costume just look at my picture and model one after me. I hope you have a purr-fect Halloween!

It’s hot back here!

Years ago, when we were a family of two young boys with their Mom and Dad, we traveled quite a bit. Either headed to a church where Andy was scheduled to speak, or leaving to come home. And rarely did we get all four doors closed or the motor started, before we heard a childish voice pipe up from the back of the van, “It’s hot back here!”

So, last week was another exciting week. One of my office humans decided to take me home with her. I had been to visit once before, but she said something this time about being at my “furever” home. So I guess that means I am staying for a while.
