Tomato blossom end rot

When blossom end rot occurs, it’s usually due to improper watering. Not as common, but just as devastating is a calcium deficiency. Even if you quickly get calcium in the ground, blossom end rot will at least intermittently continue. Non-affected fruit slowly returns to the norm. So, why didn’t the liquid or powdered calcium immediately stop the problem?

In my preteen years, I used to sit in a persimmon tree (Diospyros kaki) eating the fruit, which is very sweet when ripe. I later gave up the practice after eating some of the not-yetripe fruit which is almost unbelievably bad! The difference between ripe and unripe is that until the entire persimmon softens to a jelly-like texture, it isn’t ripe!
