The Daingerfield Tigers welcomed the number- ranked 2A team in Texas on Sept. 9, when the Timpson Bears came to Mickey Mayne Tiger Stadium. An early, non-district battle of undefeated perennial powerhouses proved to be a daunting task for the Tigers, as Daingerfield fell to 2-1 on the season after a humbling 54-28 loss to the Bears.
The Hughes Springs Mustangs opened the 2022 season with Head Coach Chris Edwards just six wins shy of one hundred for his career. After a 25-22 loss to Leonard Sept. 9, Edwards remains six wins shy of 100, and the Mustangs are still looking for their first win of the season.
The Hughes Springs JV1 team competed in the Pewitt JV tournament Sept. 8 and 10. The Hughes Springs squad finished second behind the Pewitt JV team.
Daingerfield eighth grade setter Rachael Walker sets a ball doing “A” team action Sept. 8. Walker and the Lady Tiger “A” team fell to New Diana, 2-1, in their first action of the season.
