Nursing programs granted candidacy status for initial accreditation by ACEN

Effective Feb. 4, 2026, the Northeast Texas Community College RN and VN Nursing Programs have been granted candidacy status for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The candidacy is valid through Spring 2028. This marks the first time in NTCC history that the college’s nursing programs have achieved candidate status.

Dr. Anna Ingram receives Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished College Administrator Award

Dr. Anna Ingram, Vice President of Instruction at Northeast Texas Community College, has been named a recipient of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Distinguished College Administrator Award. Dr. Ingram will be recognized during PTK Catalyst, Phi Theta Kappa’s annual international convention.

New thrift store supporting CASA opens in downtown Daingerfield

A new thrift store dedicated to supporting abused and neglected children will open its doors Feb. 17 in downtown Daingerfield. Lookie Loo’s, located on the town’s main street, will host its grand opening at noon with refreshments and giveaways. Customers who bring four nonperishable food items will receive 10% off their first purchase.
