Driver Arrested After Obscene Gesture

A woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly making an obscene gesture toward a firefighter directing traffic at a crash scene, the Lone Star Police Department said. Erika Fountain was taken into custody Tuesday following a traffic stop near the 800 block of Main Street, where emergency responders were working a single-vehicle crash at the northbound exit of a construction zone.

Nursing programs granted candidacy status for initial accreditation by ACEN

Effective Feb. 4, 2026, the Northeast Texas Community College RN and VN Nursing Programs have been granted candidacy status for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The candidacy is valid through Spring 2028. This marks the first time in NTCC history that the college’s nursing programs have achieved candidate status.

Dr. Anna Ingram receives Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished College Administrator Award

Dr. Anna Ingram, Vice President of Instruction at Northeast Texas Community College, has been named a recipient of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Distinguished College Administrator Award. Dr. Ingram will be recognized during PTK Catalyst, Phi Theta Kappa’s annual international convention.
