Morris County Jail has passed its most recent inspection, according to Sheriff Jack Martin.
In a time where law enforcement is often painted in a negative light, the Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce took steps to thank members of the Daingerfield Police Department and the Morris County Sheriff ’s Department for the work they do. The event was held as a come and go event at the Chamber office on June 25.

On June 26, Governor Greg Abbott issued the latest executive order regarding the reopening of the state. Abbott has suspended elements of the initial reopening plans and taken a step toward earlier protocols, due to “substantial increase” in COVID-19 cases in the state. Abbott said in the order that an increase in cases was expected during the reopening phase, but that the results require “targeted and temporary adjustments” to the plan.
