Lone Star Lake Residents Fight Hydrilla and Salvinia
Ten years ago this week, J Leslie Riseden wrote an article in the Steel Country Bee about Lone Star Lake having a severe hydrilla infestation. Homeowners and businesses on the lake’s north shore hired Aquatic Management Services of Tyler to treat approximately 40 acres of the lake to kill the hydrilla. The application process took about five hours, the effects would start showing up in a couple of weeks and full success expected in about a month.
