Over the past weekend, I did something that I rarely do. I took a day off, and went away for the weekend. Myself, my kids, and a friend and her daughter took off to Galveston for Mardi Gras weekend. As we were making the trek back home from Daingerfield, I go to thinking about how important the weekend was.
Early voting for the March 1 primary ends Friday. Initial reports indicate turnout has been low, as is traditional in midterm primary elections, with less than a fourth of registered voters going to the polls most years.
