Athletes from around East Texas gathered in Texarkana recently for the Third Annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Showdown. The football game was played at Texas High School’s Grim Stadium on March 3 and pitted athletes, all seniors, from South Arkansas and East Texas. Local athletes are as follows:
Though their season may not have ended the way they would have liked, the Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs are still raking in honors. And, much like she did during the season, Karmen Searcy led the way.
The Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs season has come to a close, after two losses to Mount Vernon on May 26 and May 28. The Lady Mustangs finished the season 29-6-1 after the Regional Final loss.
Hughes Springs’ Trenton Pemberton joined New Diana’s Austin Kerns as Co-Newcomers of the Year, as District 15-3A superlatives were announced. Voting was conducted by the league’s coaches.
