April is set aside to recommit ourselves to ending the vicious cycle of abuse, and to stand up for every child that needs a VOICE! Citizens are encouraged to start wearing blue ribbons in support of National Child Abuse Prevention Month during April.
The Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD Board of Trustees met in their regular monthly meeting on March 20. For the second month in a row, the board was met with a full house which included community members and student who were set to be recognized. The crowd necessitated a move from the Daingerfield High School Library to the High School Cafeteria.
Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson today reminded all eligible Texas voters to make sure they are registered to vote by Thursday, April 6 to vote in the May 6 local elections across the State of Texas. Not all local governmental entities will be holding elections on May 6, and Texas voters should check with their county elections office for more information on which municipalities, school districts, and other local political subdivisions will be holding elections. Early voting begins on Monday, April 24 and runs through Tuesday, May 2. Election Day is Saturday, May 6.
