A new council woman is helping to guide the City of Lone Star. Lesa Beards was sworn in during a Lone Star city council meeting on Thursday, January 16, by City Secretary Kyle Harrison.

Get ready to laugh until your sides hurt! The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College is thrilled to announce that comedian William Lee Martin will bring his acclaimed The Funny Life Comedy Tour to the stage on Saturday, February 15th at 7:30 p.m.
The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a check for $10,000 from the estate of the late Pat Sistrunk. The funds will be added to the Michael and Nolan Memorial Scholarship to make it a fully-endowed award. Scholarship applications for Fall 2025 are currently open and students who apply will be considered for all foundation awards, including the Michael and Nolan Memorial Scholarship.
