Surveillance photo leads to arrest of burglary suspect
A suspect was arrested after a home surveillance photo was circulated by law enforcement that tied the person to several burglaries in the area on Jan. 10.

Martin Luther King Day is held annually on the third Monday of January, and events are held around the country commemorating, celebrating, and honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In the Daingerfield area, there was a program Jan. 15, followed by a parade Jan. 17, honoring Dr. King. Both events were sponsored by the Piney Woods Civic Club, and co-sponsored by the Morris County Collaborative, Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce, and the B.U.D.D.Y Organization of Northeast Texas.
Candidates for District 1 meet constituents in Morris County
Following the 2020 Census, it was announced that there would be redistricting in Texas prior to the 2022 Election. In late 2021, new district lines were drawn, resulting in Morris and Cass Counties moving out of House District 5 and joining House District 1. On Jan. 15, thanks to a meeting organized by The Convention of States, constituents of House District 1 had an opportunity to meet the three candidates vying for Representative of HD1.
