Avinger recently celebrated the opening of Kirtman Hobby Shop, which opened in October of 2021. Kirtman Hobby Shop is located on Main Street in Avinger. Owner Jon Kirtman, said the shop offers quilts, Longarm Quilting services, fabrics and sewing supplies, machine cleaning services and more. A variety of classes are offered as well. Tax season is right around the corner. The IRS will begin accepting and processing those returns beginning Monday, January 24, and this year’s deadline to file and pay owed taxes is Monday, April 18. And as consumers lose millions of dollars to tax scams every year, BBB reminds consumers to be on the lookout for emails, text messages, and phone calls from those posing as IRS agents.
