Local resident Jere Kellough, right, and Brian Hooper will be making a $3,000 donation to CASA of Titus, Camp, and Morris Counties. Kellough and Hooper sold chances to win a pontoon boat, a jet ski, or $100 cash for a dollar each and recently announced the winners. Wade Cobb, of Country Boys Wrecker in Naples, won the first draw for the pontoon boat, while Randall Heard, of All In Septic in Naples, won the jet ski, and Katelyn McNully won the cash, which she added to the final total for CASA. The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department will host its Kids Discovery College July 12- 22 (Monday-Thursday). They are pleased to announce that classes will be offered face-to-face on the NTCC campus with extra COVID-19 safety measures in place. Classes are open to kids ages 8-16.
Lone Star and the surrounding area will have a new, lakefront attraction beginning this weekend, as Rocky Point Adventures is set to have their grand opening May 15. A ribbon cutting was held May 8.
