(AUSTIN) — With the potential for severe weather approaching, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reminds Texans they can purchase certain items tax-free during the state’s sales tax holiday for emergency preparation supplies, which begins at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, and ends at midnight on Monday, April 26.
The Hughes Springs Chamber of Commerce held their annual Crystal Globe awards banquet April 17 at The Legacy. The banquet served to honor those individuals and businesses who went above and beyond in 2020, proving when businesses, the community, the city, and the Chamber of Commerce come together, the community really can be “Stronger Together in 2021.” The banquet, typically held each January, was postponed due to lingering concerns over the ongoing pandemic.
Students at Hughes Springs ISD will have to option to not wear a mask at school beginning April 26. This comes after the board voted, 6-1, to make masks optional at their regular April meeting.
The Daingerfield City Council met in regular session April 12 at which time the council discussed a possible voluntary annexation.
