Spirit of Christmas food drive benefits local families

The holiday season is known as the Season for Giving, as many people struggle to provide a good holiday meal for their families during the Christmas season. It is for that reason that Brookshire’s Grocery Company annually holds their Spirit of Christmas food drive, in which they partner with local service agencies to distribute the donations to local needy families.

The holidays are going to be challenging this year as we attempt to balance the risk of gathering extended family during a pandemic and the need to recharge ourselves mentally and socially by being around those most special to us. The decision to engage in traditional family events during this time will need to be an individual one that considers the emotional benefit as well as the medical risk.
