Recently, The Steel Country Bee held a Salute to teacher’s contest, with nominations coming from members of the community, who also did the voting. The holidays are going to be challenging this year as we attempt to balance the risk of gathering extended family during a pandemic and the need to recharge ourselves mentally and socially by being around those most special to us. The decision to engage in traditional family events during this time will need to be an individual one that considers the emotional benefit as well as the medical risk.

Citizens of Lone Star will soon notice a new vehicle in the Lone Star Police Department’s fleet. The military surplus vehicle will be used as a mobile command unit for the department.
