The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2021 Firefighter Academy. Classes begin in January 2021 and will be held at the Mount Pleasant Central Fire Station.

The U.S. recognizes November as National Diabetes Month. Diabetes is a disease where someone suffers from high blood sugar. This disease affects approximately 34.2 million people, meaning that one in every 10 people has diabetes. The disease also affects approximately another 88 million suffering from prediabetes. This is not only something that affects adults but also many adolescents. The disease is one of the most chronic conditions in schools in the U.S. and approximately 193,000 adolescents under 20 are affected.
