2020 General Election

The 2020 general election is approaching quickly, and many Texans are expressing uncertainty with rumors circulating about mail-in voting and non-citizen voting. According to the Texas Secretary of State, 2020 will be no different from any election year before.

UIL reminds schools, spectators of guidelines

With two weekends of football games in the books for most area schools, The University Interscholastic League (UIL) is reminded just what it will take to ensure a complete season for those athletes. After seeing the first week of games, UIL issued a statement Sept. 1 reminding member schools that it is their responsibility to enforce the COVID-19 risk mitigation guidelines among spectators and participants.

Randy and Cristy Nolen gift NTCC Human Performance scholarship

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a check for $1,000 from Randy and Cristy Nolen of Mount Pleasant. The gift will be used to provide a scholarship to a student majoring in Human Performance at NTCC. Nolen has spent his career as a dedicated athletic trainer for various organizations, including many years at Mount Pleasant High School. Pictured at the check presentation is (from left) Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement, Justin Hargrove, Director of NTCC's Human Performance Program, Cristy Nolen and Randy Nolen. In addition to preparing students to transfer to four-year university programs in Human Performance, NTCC also gives select students the opportunity to gain real-world experience as student trainers for Eagle Athletics.
