The Pewitt Brahma varsity boys’ basketball team headed to Rivercrest Dec. 9-11 for the annual Rivercrest Classic. Joining the Brahmas at the round-robin tournament were the host Rebels, Winnsboro, Jefferson, Como-Pickton and Chisum.

The Daingerfield Lady Tigers used a “tenacious” defensive effort to take the win in their District 15-AAA opener. The Lady Tigers traveled to White oak Dec. 14 and downed the Lady Necks, 44-28.

The Pewitt Brahmas may have seen their season end well short of their goal of a trip to the State Championship, but that does not discount the season the Brahmas had under first year head coach Cedric Dorsey. As aresult of their successful season, several Brahmas earned district accolades.
