The Daingerfield Tigers played football for the first time on Thanksgiving Day, and the end result was certainly one Tiger fans could be thankful for. The Tigers held off a previously unbeaten West Rusk team behind the play of a freshman backup quarterback to win the Regional matchup, 50-28.

The Daingerfield Flag Football team competed in their Super Bowl Sept. 20, taking on the East Texas Longhorns. The Tigers won the game, 12-8, to finish the season undefeated. They say it is hard to beat a single team twice in one season, and the Daingerfield Tigers were banking on that being the case as they took on the Elysian Fields Yellow Jackets in the Area round of the Texas State High School Football Playoffs on Nov. 19. The saying held true for Daingerfield, as they avenged an early-season loss to the Jackets.
