With two games left in their season, the Hughes Springs Mustangs took a step to solidify their playoff hopes Oct. 22 as they traveled to Queen City to take on the Bulldogs.
The Daingerfield Lady Tigers welcomed Gladewater to Jesse Hanson Gymnasium Oct. 12. On a night where Daingerfield honored their eight senior volleyball players, the Lady Tigers showed they came to play, defeating the Lady Bears in straight sets, 25-13; 25-19; 25-17.
East Texas Xtreme softball participated in a Midnight Madness tournament in Oct. 2-3 in Gladewater. The team placed fourth out of seven teams at the tournament. Team members (from left) Raelynn Harley, Darla Jones, Rachael Walker, Kadi Daniels, Madison Clark, Jaycee Satterfield, Kaylee Bletcher, Khloe Stroman, Hayden Taylor, and Liz Melara will wear pink jersey the month of October in honor of friends and loved ones who have fought breast cancer. The Daingerfield Tigers looked to stay atop the district standings when the welcomed the Redwater Dragons to Mickey Mayne Tiger Stadium Oct. 15. The Tigers poured on the points early and often to remain undefeated in district play after the 46-o win.
