Issues facing the Republican Party of Texas will be the topic when the Morris County Republicans meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, in the fellowship hall of Lone Star Methodist Church, 818 N. Main St., Lone Star.
On Friday, October 4, Daingerfield High School walked in their Homecoming Court and the football team for the big night. The band was fired up, the cheerleaders energized, and the fans in the stands cheered the team on. Homecoming is a special annual event when former students return to see old friends and classmates and add their voices in supporting the Tigers. More details about the game on page 8.
On Friday, September 27, the Daingerfield High School football team traveled to Redwater to take on the Dragons. The Tigers came away with an overwhelming victory, winning the game with a final score of 63-12.
The Daingerfield Tigers and the DeKalb Bears tangled in a district contest last Friday night in Daingerfield and the two squads lived up to the pre-game hype as they battled until the final seconds. The visiting Bears scored late and held off the Tigers to take a 30-28 win. The hometown Tigers led 14-0 in the first half but could not shut down the rushing offense of the Bears after intermission. Most predict a rematch of the two teams at some point in the playoffs.
