I’ve written before about the intelligence of plants. They don’t have eyes, but see; don’t have mouths, but can talk; don’t have ears but hear; don’t have fingers, but can touch; and so on. Call me weird, but I apologize whenever I accidently break off a vegetable plant’s leaf!

Hughes Springs students will begin school August 13 after the board approved a revised calendar for the upcoming school year. Teachers will return to work Aug. 6 on the revised calendar.

Students in Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD will head back to the classroom August 10. This comes after the board approved a new district calendar at their June 15 meeting.
