Tigers clipped by Eagles, 17-8 on senior night

The Daingerfield Tigers, fresh off a 16-6 win against Atlanta Aug. 28, welcomed the Tatum Eagles to Mickey Mayne Tiger Stadium Sept. 4, looking to move to 2-0 on the young season. Due to Corona virus concerns, the Daingerfield Tigers bumped up their Senior Night Recognitions, which are normally held prior to the last home game. The Tigers, however, chose to move theirs to the first game, and recognized senior football, cross country, cheerleaders, and band members prior to the Sept. 4 game.

Pewitt opens 2020 campaign with 40-21 win over Atlanta

The Pewitt Brahmas began their quest to return to the State Championship game on Sept. 4 against the Atlanta Rabbits. The Brahmas, under new head coach Richard Strickland, cancelled their Aug. 28 game due to Coronavirus concerns, and have moved all their home games to Sam Parker Field in Mount Pleasant for social distancing purposes. With all the changes that have come at the Brahmas early in the season, they proved with the 40-21 win over Atlanta that they are a force to be reckoned with.
