The Daingerfield Lady Tigers opened District 15-3A volleyball action last week, facing off against Hughes Springs and White Oak. The Lady Tigers won a hardfought matchup with the Lady Mustangs Sept. 8 before falling to White Oak Sept. 11.
The Daingerfield Tigers headed to Sabine to face the Cardinals on Sept. 11, looking to avenge a tough loss to Tatum the previous week. The Tigers came home from the matchup with a 2-1 record on the season after a 35- 14 win over a previously unbeaten Cardinal team.
The Hughes Springs Mustangs did not take the field Sept 11, due to their game with Winnsboro being cancelled due to COVID-19. The Mustangs’ next opponent was scheduled to be Tatum on Sept. 18. However, following the Eagles win over Daingerfield Sept. 5, it was announced that the Tatum football program would not play their next two games (Pittsburg and Hughes Springs).
The Pewitt Brahmas, fresh off their convincing first win a week ago over Atlanta, traveled to Mount Vernon on Sept. 11 to take on the Purple Tigers. The Tigers proved to be a formidable opponent for the Brahmas, who fell to 1-1 in the regular season after the 42-14 loss.
