The Hughes Springs Mustangs, who have not played in two weeks due to COVID-19 concerns at opposing schools, shook whatever rust may have developed off as they traveled to New Diana. The Mustangs took the matchup, 22-6, to open District 11-3A play.
The Daingerfield Tigers traveled to DeKalb Sept. 25 to begin their District 10-3A slate against the 4-0 Bears. The Tigers, coming off a thrilling 26-14 homecoming win over Elysian Fields, looked to avoid a repeat of last when the teams met in similar circumstances, with similar records.
The Lady Tigers hosted the Gladewater Lady Bears Sept. 18. It took just three sets for the the Lady Tigers to notch their second district win: 25-17; 25-18; 26-24.
The Pewitt Brahmas headed to Celina Sept. 18 looking to get back on track following a 42-14 loss at Mount Vernon Sept. 11. Unfortunately, things did not go the Brahmas’ way, as they were shut out, 55-0, by the previously winless Celina Bobcats.
