Thanksgiving is the biggest cooking day of the year, and because of this, it is also a day when accidents are frequent; in fact, according to the National Fire Protection Association, Thanksgiving is the peak day of the year for cooking fires. In 2015, U.S. fire departments responded to an estimated 1,760 home cooking fires on Thanksgiving.

Food and family is the main component of any Thanksgiving gathering, no matter the size. And though the gatherings may look different this year due to current health concerns, Thanksgiving is still all about the turkey.
NTCC EMT program accepting applications
Northeast Texas Community College is accepting applications for Day and Evening EMT Basic classes. Go to www.ntcc.edu/ems to fill out the online application. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a clinical component added.
Daingerfield FFA PR team qualifies for State
The Daingerfield High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) Public Relation team competed Nov. 19 at the Area VI Leadership Development Events. The team of Riley Scholl, Ebony Chalk, and Jennifer Evans placed second and qualified for the State Contest, which will be held virtually in two weeks.
