Omaha Fire Department educates kids on fire prevention and emergencies
Omaha Fire and Rescue– along with Texas Forestry out of the Pittsburgh office– went to Pewitt Elementary on Thursday, October 31, to educate young students about fire prevention, smoke detectors, meeting spots, and 9-1-1.
Two big lithium developments in area
Two lithium news-related stories have crossed the wires over the last few weeks. First, a U.S. Geological Survey-led study estimated between 5 and 19 million tons of lithium reserves are located beneath southwestern Arkansas on the border of Texas. It was also recently announced that “Start-Up Junkie Consulting will support small businesses in leveraging Lithium for the clean energy and electric vehicle transition across Northeast Texas, Southern Arkansas, Northern Louisiana, and West Mississippi.”
Straightest path is a circle
Agift of cash (enough to make a difference) was quietly given to me, with the idea that I might pass it on to someone who needs it or help someone. This little mom with three children endured a hard season when their home burned down, a rental, but needless to say, they were without a place to stay. So they’d spent these past months trying to save for a deposit, and I’d heard she’d found a new home to rent. The mom also received a new battery for her car, thanks to another dear couple, and she’s now been blessed with a job. But the challenges still loomed, and I could see how this gift might bring relief.
