The Hughes Springs Mustangs got a late start to their 2021 football season after having to cancel last week’s opener. The Mustangs traveled to Harmony to officially begin their season on Sept. 3, only to be met with a 20-8 loss.
The Daingerfield Tigers, fresh off their 48-7 win over Atlanta a week ago, headed to Tatum looking to keep the momentum going. After falling behind 28-0, the Tigers mounted a furious comeback attempt, scoring 28 points in the fourth quarter but were unable to complete the comeback and were saddled with a 35- 28 loss.

The Northeast Texas Community College Soccer teams hosted Blinn Junior College on Saturday in the 2021 Conference opener. The NTCC Women would start the season off with a 2-1 victory over the Buccaneers, while the Men’s team from NTCC eared a 1-0 victory over Blinn.
The Daingerfield Lady Tigers traveled to Atlanta Aug. 31 to take on the Lady Rabbits. In the JV Blue match Atlanta won 25 - 8 and 25 - 15.
