Despite temperatures being in the upper ranges, fans of the Hughes Springs Mustangs gathered at the stadium Aug. 12 to greet the students who will be taking to the fields, the courts, and the trails this fall. It was the annual Mustang Stampede, and despite also being the first day of school, was well attended by fans of the Mustangs.
The Northeast Texas Community College Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams arrived back to campus to begin practice on August 10, 2021. After a crazy year of cancellations, moving the season from fall to spring, the Eagles are looking forward to playing a fall schedule again.
The Lady Mustangs had a rough start to their 2021 volleyball season, as they fell to the Hooks Lady Hornets Aug. 10. Hooks took the match in straight sets, winning 25-21, 25-17, and 25-22.
Hughes Springs Mustang football fans who purchased reserved seating for the 2019 football season are eligible to renew their seats for the upcoming 2021 season. The district began selling seats to those who wished to renew on Aug. 10.
Daingerfield Tiger fans can now purchase season tickets for the 2021 football season.
