With just over a month before two-a-day workouts begin, marking the official beginning of high school football in Texas, the Daingerfield Tigers have released their schedule for the upcoming 2021 season. The Tigers are in their second year in District 10 3-A before realignment, and look to make noise once again in the district, as well as the state football playoffs.
The Daingerfield Division II, 8U Coach Pitch All Stars won the North Regional Tournament in Mt. Vernon June 25-26. They will be playing in the Texas State Championship Series in Longview on July 16-17.
The Daingerfield Tigers 7-on-7 football team took part in the State 7-on-7 tournament June 24 and 25. All games were played at Veteran’s Park and Athletic Complex in College Station.

Starting in June and carrying on into July every year, we all get to listen to what’s usually and erroneously referred to as the 17-year cicada. Actually, there are seven periodical cicadas. To the east and north, there are three 17-year and four 13-year cicadas, leaving us in the NETSEO area with any of the other 150 species.
