The East Texas Xtreme 12U softball team traveled to Mount Pleasant June 26 and 27 to take part in the Sixth Annual Hitting for Heroes tournament honoring veterans, service members, and first responders. The team also took part in the Most Patriotic Team competition, in which they placed second.

The Daingerfield-Lone Star Youth Sports Association recently hosted the 15U Ranger Softball All-Star District Tournament at Irvin Park. Games were held June 12 and 13. The Daingerfield Tigers, coached by Mark Jones, Hershel Stroman, and Daniel Walker, took home the District All-Star Championship.
