The Daingerfield Lady Tigers and Tigers traveled to New Diana Feb. 4 to take on the New Diana Eagles and Ore City Rebels in the New Diana Invitational. Daingerfield lifters broke 42 Personal Records and four school records in route to a third place finish for the girls, while the boys team finished first overall.
The Lady Tigers finished off their 2020-2021 basketball season Feb. 5 when the welcomed Hughes Springs to Jesse Hanson Gymnasium for a district matchup. The Lady Tigers fought throughout the game, but fell just short, 37-27.
Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo was back in the saddle last weekend to start off the 2021 semester with a Rodeo hosted by Texas A&M University Commerce. The event was held at the Hopkins County Civic Center in Sulphur Springs.
Northeast Texas Community College Softball finished off January with a road trip to San Antoni, for the Alamo City Junior College Showcase tournament. In game one Jan. 29, NTCC picked up win number one of the season against Southern Arkansas Tech with a 5-1 victory.
The Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs powerlifting team traveled to Beckville Jan. 21 to compete against Beckville, Elysian Fields, and Pittsburg. The boys team then made the same trek Jan. 28 to take on Beckville, Elysian Fields, Pittsburg, and Waskom. The girl’s team finished second behind Beckville, while the boys finished first overall in their competition.
